The Gangwish Library is a recipeint of the 2020 Google/ALA Virtual Learning Minigrant. This minigrant offers virtual Applied Digital Skills Curriculum professional development training to students, faculty and staff at non-profit organizations in the format of Online Course offerings. We hope that you will visit the Applied Digital Skills Course link often and choose to participate in the course offerings that are available free to the Ottawa University community and beyond. Below is a model defining digital literacy (Media Smart, 2020) and the skills that you can improve as you participate 114 courses offered through the Applied Digital Skills Curriculum in a variety of topic areas.

This guide was created to offer all Gangwish Library patrons (students, faculty and staff) at Ottawa University access to a series of Online Courses provided by Google that was created to improve library patron Applied Digital Skills and Competencies and offer students an array of service and experiential learning experiences online.
You can search and filter the Google for Education Applied Digital Skills Curriculum by Audience, Digital Tool or Topic.
Google Suite Certification courses are available in the Applied Digital Skills Curriculum; but please be aware that if you plan to take those, you would need to take an examination to get certification which expires on December 31 and will be replaced by new Google Certifications. If you are interested in the Cloud and Cloud-related technology certifications, AWS is a great way to start. AWS does however become complex fast, but if you are interested in improving your knowledge about Cloud Technologies and the technologies that have been developed by Google, then AWS might be useful to know about.

If you signup, you can choose to do the free training provided by for AWS only, but there are also other options that would require you to upgrade and make your own arrangements to continue to train further.
